"I started writing before Istarted college, reviewing theater productions for a community newspaper in Folsom, California. My love of theater motivated me to start my own theater company in Sacramento - The Hamlett Players - and to begin a writing career that has now spanned almost four decades."
Plays, The Magazine for Young People
Since 1980, I have had the privilege of writing for Plays, The Magazine for Young People. Plays is the premiere publisher of one-act scripts, skits and adaptations for aspiring young actors. There is nothing more gratifying than knowing that generations of young people are taking that first step onto the stage to perform a play of mine.
Many of my plays and commerciaI comedy skits have also been published by Contemporary Drama Service. These are now available through Pioneer Drama Service, Heartland Plays and Brooklyn Publishers.
In 2012, I brought on a playwriting partner, Jamie Dare, to script a trioof “Seusspeare” scripts for the high school market:Meet the MacBeths, Hamlet Hears a Who, and Romeo and Juliet’s Restaurant Wars. For Heartland Plays and Brooklyn Publishers, we've penned a trio of "Austenesque" scripts which include Cliffhanger Abbey, Hyde and Prejudice, and Séance and Sensibility.
